Structural project: what it contains
Structural design is required by Italian (NTC 2008 and subsequent amendments) and European anti-seismic regulations. It consists of static and seismic calculations, accompanied by technical drawings detailing every detail.
Specifically, the project must include the following elements: the structural calculation report with a general description of the work, the criteria used for analysis and verification, a report on the materials used, drawings, construction details, a maintenance plan, and experimental results.
It must also contain static calculation reports, referring to analyses performed with the appropriate software. For each software used, the origin and characteristics of the calculation codes used must be precisely indicated, including the name, author, manufacturer, version, and license details or similar authorizations.
The results of the analyses performed with these tools must finally be translated into drawings and graphical diagrams containing the structure, graphic representations of the main stress characteristics or stress components, and load diagrams. All must be accompanied by the designer’s technical commentary.
