How to furnish a garden

When discussing environmental design, it’s impossible not to mention the outdoor space, which must be properly enhanced. Since summer is here, today we’ll offer some tips on how to decorate a garden. The first factor to consider is its size; depending on the available space, we can allow for more space, but that doesn’t mean a modest-sized garden can’t be well-decorated.
Below are some options to inspire you and give your garden a try:
Turf and plants
The first choice is to install real grass or synthetic lawn; unless there are specific needs, real grass is always recommended because, while we can’t disparage all synthetic lawns, they can never match natural grass. If natural lawn is absolutely unacceptable, you can opt for other solutions that don’t require the installation of synthetic grass. You could consider using wooden decks, alternating with strategically placed potted plants, or creating tubs that serve as seating and house flowers. Or you could consider shifting the greenery from horizontal to vertical, using climbing plants, such as jasmine, that can grow and multiply along the fences, concealing them. It’s also important to keep in mind that vegetation, whether vertical or horizontal, ensures better air quality and natural climate cooling.
Another effective strategy is to divide the garden using plant and flower types, which, thanks to their color and height, immediately direct visitors through the garden. They can be used to highlight internal pathways or to draw attention to the garden’s main feature, be it a specific, prominent plant or a relaxation area.
Garden furniture
Treating your backyard as a second outdoor living room is a good approach. Depending on how you use it, you might consider furnishing a corner with outdoor sofas and armchairs, along with a few low tables to set down your drinks, should you be having a drink with friends. Or, if you’re a barbecue enthusiast, you could design a dedicated corner for the grill, which could be protected by a small outdoor gazebo, ensuring you can always keep your essentials ready for use throughout the season. Then, the rest of the garden, always planted with plants, could accommodate a table and comfortable chairs for serving your barbecue. Or, if you’re envisioning your backyard as a space for total immersion in nature, depending on its exposure to sunlight, you could plant tall plants directly in the ground or in large pots, creating a sort of urban jungle where you’ll forget you’re in the city.
A must-have for every garden: the swimming pool
Depending on the size of your garden and your budget, you might consider installing a swimming pool, and this opens up a whole new world of possibilities: there are countless types of pools, available in many sizes, and particularly interesting are those that are partly in-ground and partly above ground, so you don’t have to dig extensively while still being able to afford a suitable depth. Garden pools are a true feature of your garden, and can be matched to the type and color of your deck. The pool isn’t just a pool; it’s flanked by steps that allow access to the water, and they transform into comfortable seating areas paired with waterproof outdoor cushions. These are just a few ideas for decorating your garden; the first goal is to understand how you’ll actually use it most and then furnish it accordingly. This way, we will obtain a garden that is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also functional for individual needs, in accordance with the climate of the area in which it is located and the orientation of the garden.
