Feasibility studies allow for the analysis and evaluation of all aspects of a project, from technical to financial. They define the execution plan and are useful for estimating the resources required for completion, highlighting strengths and limitations, opportunities and risks. A feasibility study typically consists of various options, so as to identify the best solution across all aspects (highest return, lowest risk).
Feasibility analysis: what does it consist of?
The Implementation and Execution Regulation of the Procurement Code precisely defines the elements that comprise a feasibility plan. They can be summarized as follows:
The functional, technical, managerial, and economic-financial characteristics of public and private works
An analysis of alternatives to the main implementation solution
Assessment of the feasibility of implementation through public-private partnership contracts
An analysis of architectural, geological, socioeconomic, and administrative components;
A preliminary assessment of the project’s environmental sustainability and landscape compatibility. This includes architectural design requirements, characteristics, and connections with the surrounding context. In this regard, verification of historical, archaeological, and landscape environmental constraints is of crucial importance, as is all appropriate measures to safeguard environmental, cultural, and landscape protection.
